Abney + Abney Green Solutions began on a beach in Stuart, Florida with an “if you could do anything what would you do” conversation. The answer started as a dream, but today owning a successful green building consulting firm is our reality. We value integrity, personal relationships and believe in having fun along the way. We love what we do and hope it shows.

An impressive list of clients and references is available upon request.

Kyle Abney

Kyle is a LEED® Accredited Professional (AP) and a state licensed General Contractor. As the Principal of Abney + Abney Green Solutions, Kyle has first-hand experience with all of the green building certifications for both commercial and residential construction in Florida.

Prior to founding his own firm, Kyle worked for a large commercial contractor and later for his family's construction business. He is a recognized speaker on the topic of sustainable development and has been cited in various publications including Palm Beach Post, Miami Herald, Orlando Sentinel and was featured on National Public Radio (NPR). Kyle is active in the Florida Green Building Coalition and US Green Building Council South Florida Chapter where he served as the organization's president from 2008-2010. In 2013, he was named one of the Top 20 under 40 building professionals in the Southeastern United States by Engineering News Record (ENR).

An avid Gator fan, Kyle is a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Architectural Design ('99) and a Master's of Building Construction with a concentration in Sustainable Construction ('01). He has the premier distinction of being the first person in the United States to receive a formal construction degree in green building.

When he's not working he'd rather be wakeboarding.

Harmony Abney

In her role as president of the firm, Harmony is primarily responsible for the firm’s marketing and communications efforts. In addition to ongoing brand awareness activities, she serves as an integral part of the team responsible for coordinating, organizing and assisting in the implementation of green certification criteria. Further, she is actively involved with owners, architects, contractors and developers to assist in understanding the means, methods and materials necessary to meet certification requirements.

Prior to co-founding Abney + Abney Green Solutions, Harmony worked in the administration of Rich Crotty, Mayor of Orange County (FL). She had the privilege of being involved in the "Make Orange Green" initiative which later resulted in Orange County being the first Florida Green Building Coalition Gold-level Certified Green Local Government.

Harmony is a graduate of Stetson University, the loving wife of Kyle and proud mother to Parker and Winnie. When she is not working she'd rather be in Sonoma County, California with a good bottle of red wine (open…of course).
